Tiadhe bus company is the main bus operator on the island. Travelling by bus is one of the cheapest ways of getting around on the island. Most buses dont operate during the night as some finish early evening, many evening services dont run very regular.

There are 16 different bus routes running on the island, the buses are quite efficient and mostly comfortable, it normally takes about 20 minutes from Caleta de Fuste to Puerto del Rosario and 40 minutes to reach the capital from Corralejo. Most drivers speak little or no English, though they will try their best to be of assistance.

Taxis are relatively cheap and reliable, most of the drivers can speak a little English, the taxis on the island can't be ordered in advance and only opereate within the taxi drivers specific area. There are always plenty of taxis outside Arrivals at the airport and in any of the major towns on the island.

Fuerteventura is the second largest island of the Canary Islands, about 645sq miles, so theres plenty of room to explore the island in your hire car. Fuerteventura's population is one of the smallest of the Canary islands so that means fewer cars & less traffic jams, making your driving experience that bit more enjoyable.

An interesting place to drive through is the old capital city of Betancuria which is located in the centre of Fuerteventura or you could visit the idyllic sands of Corralejo in north Fuerteventura You can find car hire at the airport & in most towns.
